I seen you in the afterglow of the Big Dang
Two mosquito bites on your hand
You said, "Like a long vowel, I make my own name"
Didn't you think I wouldn't see you?

"I like how close the rain is from the porch," you said
We sat and watched in silence

A good long drive from the road
I kept itching my hand
And then forgetting

You stood and walked from the porch down the steps into the yard and rain

Raising your arms and turning
I suddenly remembered you live here
