Out where paradise had been,
I got them ol' Göbekli Tepe blues.
They cannot know what we called ourselves,
Or who we were,
But the vulture takes us home.

Landscape's rippling dream.

Wow, Momma--
The Fear--
It come over you at any time, any where.
At any age.
Like you are falling,
Or about to,
Inside.

Faces in the water.

In a room where fire never was,
We were freezing.
Most were so busy talking they could not hear
The little language of other.
Or what was like wings far away.

If you could see what your face was saying,
You would not stick around either.

CUT TO:
Centuries later,
Under blanket

A system of circles seen from above,
And movement within,
Flickering

Wow, Momma--
It makes a sense now...

"What I try to do, among other things, is to mix fantasy and spirituality, sexuality, humor and poetry in combinations that have never quite been seen before in literature. And I guess when a reader finishes one of my books -- provided the reader does finish the book -- I would like for him or her to be in the state that they would be in after a Fellini film or a Grateful Dead concert. Which is to say that they've encountered the lifeforce in a large, irrepressible and unpredictable way and as a result their sense of wonder has been awakened and all of their possibilities have been expanded."

"At the same time, I don't think that a novel is supposed to be a guide book to happiness any more than it's supposed to be a journal of one's personal pain and frustration, which most novels are today, unfortunately. I think the novels that are most important are those that are more on the order of those coyotes that howl on the hills outside of town. Something mysterious and wild and hypnotic."

– Tom Robbins

I have returned again and again to this classic interview with the classic Tom Robbins. Thank you, January Magazine!

It's going to be a good day. Benny's coming over to help fix the car and have some laughs. After that who knows.

You may listen to episodes of Rookie Night, my radio theater show, over at the warm, well-lit, and velvety new Freekradio media room. You may find episodes of Rookie Night under the "talk" section. So go have a look-see. Have a listen-see. Like an Atlantis bath-house you might go and stay for days. Or years.

Rookie Night is presently on hiatus. Theater will return, but for now other endeavors are afoot. Dog needs a new pair of shoes. Visit the museum! Enjoy a map of a world.

we gather it and ourselves toward and through one another
